Our Story
Once upon an time, a girl named Jackie(wife), wanted a wood deck built at home. So she asked her husband Garrett to build her the deck of her dreams so she could drink coffee and wine all day in the Sask sun. So the husband Garett went out and started buying lumber, a lot of lumber... So much lumber that it filled a whole yard.
While doing this, Garrett was approached by two big businesses in Saskatchewan and Western Canada, and made a deal. They bought so much lumber and goodies that they thought about opening a lumberyard. So July of 2023 Garrett reached out to his parents to see if they could all start a lumber yard at the family farm near Craven. The deal he mad to his parents was that they could use all of the lumber they wanted in exchange for the space on the property where the lumber yard would be located.
At first they really didn't know what they were getting into, but it grew and grew to the point where Jackie's brother(Jamie) and a close friend(Mark) wanted to get involved, so they jumped in on the journey. The four of them decided to call their business Second Chance Surplus Co and started giving great deals to customers.
Then one day Garrett was out on another adventure with his dear friend Mark and they came across really cool opportunity that would help them expand their business even further. A store where they would sell 'big box retail items', this was going to be a game changer for everyone! Jackie ran all of the numbers, while the other guys did all of the heavy lifting and BOOM! - 674 Cornwall St. was open on August 15, 2024.
At the start it was lots of work, but still a lot of fun. It was like Christmas everyday with all of the new and exciting items coming in to stock the store. The people were happy and there were great deals to be had for young and old. The whole family (three generations to be exact) took part in growing the new business, it got so busy that the idea of expanding yet again seemed like the right direction for Second Chance Surplus. This is how Second Chance Surplus Co in Ituna, SK came to be.
Second Chance Surplus in Regina, Sk just passed its six month Birthday and is looking to stick around for years to come. Second Chance is eager, excited, and willing to take on the challenge of giving affordable products and great service to the people.

P.S. There is a sad part to this story, Jackie still doesn't have her deck to drink her morning coffee and evening wine on in the Saskatchewan sun. Who knows, maybe next year the husband will surprise the awesome wife?... Maybe one day.
